Clonmel Celtic will fly the Tipperary flag in the quarter finals of the FAI Junior Cup. They were the only side out of four to get through the last sixteen on Sunday. The Clonmel side beat Dublin visitors Trinity Corinthians 3-1 at home.

Two other Tipperary South and District League teams lost to Dublin opposition. Last season’s finalists St Michael’s went down 2-1 away to Sheriff YC while Peake Villa lost at home to Sandyhill Celtic 2-1.

Meanwhile Waterford League side Carrick United lost away to Kilbarrack United.
