Defeat for Tipperary footballers

Roscommon 1-12 Tipperary 0-12

Tipperary’s footballers made a disappointing start to their National Football League Division 3 campaign when they lost by a goal to Roscommon in Kiltoom on Sunday.

The teams were level at half-time, 0-4 each, and the crucial score came in the 46th minute when Roscommon’s Conor Devaney found the net.

Tipperary suffered a blow when Barry Grogan was sent off after he received a second yellow card but Tipp kept plugging away in the face of adversity and had the lead reduced to just a point within 2 minutes remaining. However Roscommon finished the stronger.

Tipp will have a chance to get back on track when they entertain Antrim at Semple Stadium next Sunday in the second round of the league.
