A great second half performance by Edel Hanley earned Aherlow a draw in Monday night's County Intermediate Ladies Football semi-final against Moycarkey at New Inn.

Aherlow 2-12 Moycarkey 2-12

Aherlow Intermediate Ladies football team took on Moycarkey Ladies in the County semi-final on Monday night in New Inn.

Aherlow had the better start to the first half, with some good passages of play resulting in a well-taken goal by Claire Mullins. However Moycarkey were soon back in the game and the half-time score was 1-7 for Aherlow to Moycarkey’s 0-7.

Aherlow were slow to start the second half and soon Moycarkey were in control and went ahead with a goal. It was a very close final ten minutesand Moycarkey scored another goal.

Siobhan Condon worked all over the pitch for Aherlow while Edel Hanley made sure Aherlow stayed in the game as she scored point after point as well as a lovely goal.

In the final minutes she put over a point from a free, bringing the game level at 2-12 each.

Aherlow and Moycarkey eagerly await a new fixture date to replay a very exciting semi-final.
