The second of the Clonmel Oil Senior football championship semi-finals will be staged in Fethard on Tuesday evening, August 14 at 7 p.m. In opposition will be warm favourites Commercials and the surprise packets of the competition to date Killenaule.

Paddy Russell will be in charge of the whistle.

The Clonmel side has a well balanced combination of young stars and experienced performers and they will be expected to progress to another Divisional decider. Killenaule however have developed into a very useful side whose performances throughout the league stages have shown an ability to match the best. They are well worthy of their semi-final place and will not be overawed by their opponents.

It is a novel pairing for this stage of the championship and should prove a most interesting clash.

Three games in the John Quirke Jewellers junior hurling (A) grade should go a long way towards completing the line up for the concluding stages of that competition.

St. Patricks and Ballylooby-Castlegrace can be expected to serve up a very entertaining tussle in Ned Hall Park at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening whilst two games at noon on Sunday will also be expected to attract sizeable attendances. Kilsheelan/Kilcash will face Skeheenarinky in Goatenbridge whilst in Cloneen Moyle Rovers will oppose Mullinahone.

The Chadwicks minor hurling championship is at a very interesting stage and further games are listed for this Friday evening. In Cahir Moyle Rovers and Skeheen will again be in opposition whilst Kilsheelan Gaels will tackle Carrick Swans in Ned Hall Park.

Both these ties are listed for 7-30 p.m. whilst a little later at 7-45 p.m. in Kilsheelan Ballingarry and St. Marys may provide the top contest of the evening.

The junior (B) hurlers of Cahir and Killenaule will be clash in the Europlan sponsored championship in Fethard on Sunday at noon and these experienced rivals can be depended upon to serve up interesting fare.
