Clonmel High School hurlers lose out

Clonmel High School's Tom Kirwan holds off the challenge of Dungarvan's Michael Harney in the Corn Phadraigh game won by the Waterford school.

Clonmel High School senior hurlers were unlucky to lose to Dungarvan CBS in the Corn Phadraigh semi-final, 1-9 to 1-8. The Tipp boys put in a huge display but were narrowly beaten by Dungarvan who now go on to meet Doon CBS in the final. The Doon team has a heavy sprinkling of West Tipp players who will push Dungarvan all the way.

That final takes place in Cahir this Saturday.

Many of the Clonmel High School players are still underage for next year when they are expected to make a push for honours.

Tremendous work has gone into hurling coaching in the school and the results can be seen in reaching a Munster semi-final where they were just beaten by a side containing many Harty Cup players.
