Disappointing Championship loss for Cahir

U-21 Championship

Cahir lost to Moyle Rovers on a score line of 0-11 to 0-4 in a sluggish game in Ballyporeen. In terrible conditions both teams struggled to set the game alight, Moyle Rovers kept the scoreboard ticking over with frees while Cahir struggled to make any inroads. Half-time score Moyle Rovers 0-7 to 0-2. Moyle Rovers came out of the blocks quickest in the second half and scored two quick points while Cahir could only manage two more frees.

What was a most disappointing afternoon we now must beat Ardfinnan to have any chance of qualifying.

Team: Evan O’Dwyer, Liam Howard, Joe McEnriy, John Sheehy, Eoin Farrell, Eddie Kendrick, Cormac Crowe, Sean O’Connor, Dean Lonergan, Shane Tobin, Michael Hickey, Shane Murphy (0-2), Johnny McMahon (0-2), Eoghann Quinlan, Sean Kiernan.

Subs: Daire O’Brien, Liam Casey, Daniel Moloney, Eoin Donaghy, Ciaran O’Donnell, Oisin Moloney, David Purtill, Stephen Dooley.

A Little Bit of History

Well done to Andy Moloney and Daniel Moloney who were linesmen in the recent McGrath Cup semi-final match between Cork and C. I. T.

Best Wishes

The club would like to express our deepest regret as we say goodbye to Ritchie “rock” Guthrie as he departs with his family for Australia. The Rock’s commitment and blatant disregard for his own safety was always a sight to behold. Hopefully we’ll see him back in the Slasher jersey again.

JUVENILE

Many thanks to Mary Howard for her time and patience in helping the lads to their win. The county final will be on next Sunday in Cashel at 2.30pm.
