Tipperary junior footballers push Kerry all the way
Tipperary's Thomas Hanley going highest over Kerry's Niall O'Shea in Munster JFC game in Nenagh last Saturday.
Despite a spirited second half comeback Tipperary just fell short of a famous win over Kerry at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh on Saturday evening in the Munster junior football championship, losing 1-11 to 1-9.
Although Benny Hickey and Martin Dunne were outstanding for Tipperary, a 23-minute period in the opening half when the Premier were hold scoreless cost Jim O’Meara’s men very dearly. Tipperary trailed 0-4 to 1-8 at the break; a seven-point deficit that they just could not claw back.
They fought back to within two points in the second half but the stronger Kingdom outfit just held on for victory.
