A Meeting of the Community Games Munster Council took place last week in the Fir Grove Hotel, Mitchelstown. The following details were clarified for 2013.
The first phase of the Munster finals in respect of the winter games programme will take place in Tralee on Saturday, March 30.
National Finals Weekend (1) will take place in Athlone on weekend of May 2 to 26th. Munster Finals stage 2 will be held in Tralee on Saturday, June 29. National Finals weekend 2 will take place in AIT Athlone commending of the weekend of August 16. It is very important to make a note of these dates now as people may be planning holidays. Please pay particular attention to change of date for the second Munster finals. This has been brought forward from the traditional date of the second Saturday in July which has been “written in stone” for the past 30 years to June 29.
The Munster finals are taking place in Tralee due to Kerry hosting the finals, they have decided to host them at home much to the disappointment of many who look forward to competing in the central venue of the University of Limerick. However this is the current situation.
All entries for the winter games programme must be with Tipperarty County Secretary, Kathleen England by Thursday, November 15.
Draw for Winter Games will take place in Hayes Hotel, Thurles on Wednesday, November 21 which is also the date for the next county board meeting.
