The Annual Rugby Dance was again a big success! Held last Thursday night with the Cashel Palace Hotel as a back drop, the festive scene was set.

Guests were greeted by Club President Padraig Ryan and his wife Pauline in the foyer as they arrived and the ingredients for a great night were in place from the start.

The meal was excellent, the speeches were short and the music brought out some inspired footwork from Club stalwarts to novices alike.

The Rugby dance is an institution which allows young and old come together to acknowledge triumphs and celebrate Christmas with a touch of glamour.

The refrain “Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engagement!” could be heard coming from James Hanly and Brid O’Dwyer as they announced their intentions. Best of luck to both of them.

Such nights are always down to planning and Ellen Davern and Pauline Ryan should indeed take a bow on this one.

Junior Cup rugby

The seconds will be away next Sunday, January 8, when they take on Abbeyfeale in a Junior Cup tie. Kick off is at 2 o’clock and your support would be appreciated.

Bingo

Bingo continues at 8.30 p.m. sharp in the Clubhouse on this Wednesday, January 4, with some added incentives for the new year in the form of cash prizes and “side by side”. Don’t miss it!
