Tipp hurlers suffer heavy defeat in All-Ireland semi-final
Pa Bourke scored Tipperary's goal when they were beaten by Kilkenny by 18 points in Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Hurling semi-final at Croke Park.
KIlkenny 4-24 Tipperary 1-15
Tipperary’s hopes of reaching their fourth All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final in-a-row were dashed when they were hammered by Kilkenny in Sunday’s semi-final at Croke Park.
A goal from Pa Bourke helped Tipp to lead at half-time by 1-10 to 1-9 and their hopes were high facing into the second half.
However Kilkenny soon took a grip on the game and goals from Aidan Fogarty, Eoin Larkin and TJ Reid (who also scored their first goal) gave Kilkenny an easy victory.
Tipp’s challenge completely foundered in the second half, when they scored just 5 points, as they suffered one of their heaviest defeats in championship history.
Kilkenny now meet Galway in the final, which will be a re-match of the Leinster Final, on September 9.
