Carrick-on-Suir’s O’Loughlin on Irish team for European Youth Cycling Olympics
Sixteen year old Michael O’Loughlin has been named on the Irish cycling team for the European Youth Olympics in Utrecht, Holland in July following a series of five selection races.
Superb Tipperary win on first stage of An Post Ras
The Tipperary team enjoyed an amazing start to the 2013 An Post Rás as Conor Dunne rode to an incredible victory on stage one of Ireland’s biggest bike race.
Athletics
The Annerville 10K Road race took place in Clonmel on Sunday with over 360 participants taking part. Conditions, while cool, were ideal for running and we witnessed some great performances. Sandis Bralitis of West Waterford went to the start to defend his title and right from the start he set a strong pace and soon went into the lead, which he never relinquished as he came home a very worthy winner in 32 mins 20 secs. This was a great performance, as he was well clear after 2K.
Large crowd for the Tipp Darts Masters
Last Sunday saw another large crowd gather in Fozzy’s Bar (The Outback) Clonmel, for round five of the Tipperary Masters.
Nora Doyle wins third Irish boxing title
Clonmel’s Nora Doyle claimed her third Irish boxing title with two hard-fought victories at the National Girls Championships held in Dublin over the last two weekends.

The Annerville 10K takes place this Sunday, 12th May, in Clonmel at 2pm. The entry fee is 10 Euros.
Clonmel’s Angela McCann storms to victory in Limerick
Clonmel’s Angela McCann won the Limerick Marathon on Sunday in 2 hours 57 mins 13 secs when finishing 17th overall. This was great running by Angela who also won this event last year.
Great running expected at county 10k championships in Fethard
The County Ladies 5k and Men’s 10K Road Race Championships takes place in Fethard on Sunday 19th May at 12 noon. This is the first time these Championships will be hosted by the local club with the Ladies race starting at 12 noon followed by the Men’s 10K.
Marion Riordan Open Day at Ballykisteen Golf Club on Sunday
Last weekend Ballykisteen GC held their 2nd Monthly medal of the year which was very kindly sponsored by Darragh Ryan of The Valley Inn, Murroe, it was a singles stableford event, played off the white tees and with firm fairways throughout, scoring was very keen. The winner of our 2nd Medal of the year was Maurice Irwin followed by Darren Dunlea in 2nd. Category 1 winner was Garry Feeney and Category 2 winner was Pa Ryan. The winner of the Junior Medal was Gavin Downey with a super 42Pts.
Huge entry for inaugural Faugheen 5k road race
The 2013 OutfieldSports.ie Three Counties Challenge got off to a flying start on Friday evening last when a field of 218 runners lined up just outside the village for the first ever Faugheen 5k.
Clonmel juveniles impress in Munster athletics event
The Munster Juvenile combined events took place last weekend in Cork.
Clonmel athletes do well in Faugheen event
The Faugheen 5k road race took place in good conditions last Friday night and it was great to see so many Clonmel club members participate over what is considered to be a good fast course promoted by Carrick on Suir Road Runners.
