Wet and windy walking

Last Sunday saw 20 walkers on the mountains on a typical wet and windy November day. Eleven were on the moderate level walk with Willie Fahey and climbed the Sugar Loaf mountain in the Knockmealdowns, and six climbed a gully behind Lake Muskry.

Meanwhile Bridget Browne, Tony Madden and Maura Creaney were involved in some high level navigation on a walk taking in Coumshingaun, Coum Iarthair and Crotty’s Lough in the Comeraghs.

Overall, a very enjoyable day of winter mountaineering.

This coming Sunday, the usual high level walk departs from Cashel at 11am. And, a note for diaries: the annual Holly Walk this year is on December 9 – further information next week.
