Tipperary woman Peggy Kennedy landed a cool €30,000 on National Lottery game show Winning Streak on Saturday.

Ardfinnan’s Peggy, who is orignally from Bansha, came agonisingly close to spinning the iconic Grand Prize Wheel, but was thrilled to take home her winnings on a bus full of friends and family who travelled to Dublin to support her on the RTÉ show.

Peggy plans to use her winnings from Winning Streak to upgrade her ‘03 Yaris.

Despite being retired, Peggy leads quite the busy life. In her spare time she is the chairperson of Ardfinnan Ladies GAA Club, is treasurer of the Ardfinnan Lourdes Fund which raises funds to send two people to the holy shrine every year and is treasurer of Ardfinnan Tidy Towns.

Peggy, who was due to attend the wedding of a neighbour in Thurles on Saturday before her name was drawn to appear on the National Lottery TV game show, made her way to the afters when Winning Streak was finished for double celebrations.

A total of €158,000 was won on Winning Streak on Saturday.
