Rockwell College’s Faye Dowling and James Doyle are set to fly to Shanghai, China, on Thursday 22nd March after winning a two week scholarship to study Chinese Language and Culture.
They will join 90 other students from around Ireland and their teacher Ying Liu at Shanghai University for what is a very prestigious scholarship.
James and Faye beat 70 other students in Rockwell College to claim their prize in a Chinese Language and Culture exam. Their days will consist of studying Chinese literature in the morning, and taking part in cultural activities such as calligraphy and martial arts in the afternoon. They will also visit the the city of Hangzhou and go on a cruise on the Yellow River.
