Tipperary’s Rockwell College Union held a very successful annual dinner for past pupils at Cahir House Hotel recently.
Great company and food was on the menu at the event, which this year celebrated past pupils as far back as 1958.
Past and present teachers and pupils shared tales and recollected their fondest memories at Rockwell College.
Pat Mulcahy, now living in London, was the recipient of the Rockwell College Union Person of The Year award. Pat was honoured with the award for his outstanding service to Rockwell College Union over a 25 year period.
After finishing at Rockwell in 1967, Pat studied agriculture at Shuttleworth College in the United Kingdom and went on to be an agricultural advisor until his recent retirement.
In the early 1990s, Pat took over the running of the London dinner from Mike Kirby, who had started the celebratory occasion in 1988. The dinner is held on the eve of the England v Ireland Six Nations clash every second year.
Pat has also managed the golf outing at Bishop’s Stortford for more than 25 years. He is now ably assisted by his wife Patricia, his daughters Caroline and Pamela, and son James.
