Clonmel Theatre Guild’s November production, John B. Keane’s The Chastitute, is now fully cast and this winter’s dinner theatre has some of the best comic actors from Clonmel and the surrounding areas who promise laughter and drama in a show directed by Patricia Harte.
Amanda Kirwan, who is renowned for her timing and comedy, plays the cool but coy Eva. Ger Meagher plays John Bosco McLaine and Ger shines as the country middle-aged man looking for love. The Guild are delighted to welcome back Sean Bergin, who will play the ‘bould Sylvester Brady. Sean was a member of Brewery Lane and excelled in his latest performance with Stage Mad. Ann Loh is Aunt Jane, Catherine McVicker is Heather, Ed Ryan plays Fr. Kimmerly, Ricky Dunne is the matchmaker Mickey Molly and a big welcome back is extended to John Leahy, who plays the barman. The narrator is Michael Hennessy.
The Guild are also delighted to have a number of new faces on stage and this production promises to take the audience on a rollercoaster ride through the trials and misfortunes of John Bosco’s life and attempts to find love. The new faces include Jessica Keane, Carol Acheson, Sandra Hickey, Anita Hickey, Liam Lankstead, Tom Callery, Jim Malone, Sharon Hewitt and Catherine Bourke.
The show will run from Wednesday, 23rd to Saturday, 26th November at Raheen House Hotel. Tickets cost €30 and will be available from Marian’s shortly. The Guild will donate a portion of the profits to Scoil Chormac in Cashel.
