Having thrilled audiences worldwide with their unique blend of Ballads, Folk ,Humour, Wit and foot-tapping music the Dublin City Ramblers are delighted to be making a welcome return to Clonmel this October 14th for a special concert in aid of the Clonmel Carers Association taking place at the Clonmel Park Hotel. The band who played the venue last Christmas attracted a large crowd and gave a great nights entertainment performing their all time classic hits including “The Rare Olde Times”, “ Marys Song” and some great renditions of popular favorites including Slievenamon, Fields of Athenry and Nancy Spain are looking forward to a return visit to Clonmel and in particular are looking forward to playing in aid of this great cause.
With an impressive career has spanned more than 35 years, with over 30 albums, top ten hits, several awards for best Ballad/Folk Group and, to top it all off, 8 Gold Albums. It is certainly no wonder that they are classed as Ireland’s Number One Folk Group!
They have performed at most Major Festivals worldwide, including headlining The Milwaukee Irish Festival, The Cleveland Irish Festival, Hollywood Irish Fest, Florida, Miami Irish Fest, Ft Lauderdale and most USA, Canadian & other festivals throughout the Globe as well as numerous unique venues including Dublin’s National Stadium, National Concert Hall, Cork’s Opera House, England’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall and any other venue you care to mention.
In addition to all of the above the band have been honoured on several occasions by being given the Keys to the cities of Ft Lauderdale and Hollywood (Florida) and Moorehead ,Kentucky.
Among their many ardent fans are the beautiful actress Maureen O’Hara, star of that magical movie, “The Quiet Man”, ex-Republic of Ireland managers, Eoin Hand, Johnny Giles & Jack Charlton, and a host of well known celebrities.
This concert is a special one for the group as they are huge supporters of the great work done by the Carers Association nationwide and wanted to give something back to this organisation. It is hoped this concert will help raise vitally needed funds for the organisation to support them in the important work they carry out in the community.
