Lisvernane, the tiny village in the picturesque Glen of Aherlow, is bringing the Irish language to life and now needs your votes to win a E40,000 community prize.
The village is a competitor in the G-Team show on TG4 and last night, Sunday, made it into the final two teams from 120 entries!
All voting is by text vote so show our support for the Tipp community by texting TEAM L to 53305.
Everything from the signs on the street, the conversation in the shops, to peoples Facebook pages is suddenly as Gaeilge. This is all being filmed by TG4 for their reality TV show “An G-Team”. The aim of the show is to promote Irish in non Gaeltacht areas.
“For 100 years, Irish was dead in the Glen of Aherlow – now it is truly alive again. We are not going to stop now, this is just the start,” said Paddy “Bear” O’Shea who is spearheading Lisvernane’s campaign to take the TV Top spot.
Lisvernane are up against Donabate, Co Dublin, in the final.
