Clonmel youth theatre group Stagecraft is in the final stages of preparation for Musical Mania 2013, the ultimate post-summer pick-me-up.
This energetic production runs for one night only on Friday, September 6 at the Abymill Theatre, Fethard at 8.15 pm. Tickets for this jam-packed night are selling fast in Premier Music, O’Connell Street, Clonmel for only €12.
Musical Mania is a brilliant cocktail of some of the most popular and entertaining musicals of recent decades and features favourites from The Lion King, American Idiot, Oliver, Glee, Shrek, Rent, Les Mis and two of this year’s hottest West End shows, Once and Matilda.
Musical Mania will be performed by a group of talented young people ranging from 6-18 years who have dedicated their summer holidays to learning new skills and preparing for this musical spectacular.
Stagecraft have put together a talented team of creatives to mount this ambitious production including director Jack Reardon, musical director Kate Twohig, choreographer Lucy Fitzgerald and assistant director Katie Keyes.
Kate Twohig said “I’ve had the pleasure of being musical director to the hardest-working group of kids I have ever come across. The sound they produce, together with their relentless energy and positive attitude, made for a hugely successful summer in preparation for what is bound to be an outstanding performance.” Stagecraft was founded in 1998 by current artistic director Shane Dempsey.
It has established a long tradition of providing young performers with the highest standards of training.
