The Annual Glasha Flower and Garden Society Summer Show took place at Cardinal Browne Community Hall in Grangemockler on Sunday, August 7, with a huge attendance of gifted flower arrangers who decorated the tables the length of the hall with delightful scented flower arrangements and produce.
All colours and varieties of plants, shrubs, flowers and wild flowers spilled out of jars and jugs and were absolutely beautiful to look at and testament to the artistic flair of the members and visitors who also entered the Summer Show. They would suit any occasion and would give an uplifting backdrop to many venues.
Classes judged included Novices, Cut Flowers, Children’s Exhibits, Flower Arrangements and Miscellaneous.
Also on display for judging was the produce section which included Tea-Brack, 6 brown eggs, an array of home made jams, scones and jam sponges. The Judge on the day was Mildred Stokes.

Her eye to detail and artistic talent is to be commended. Also congratulations to young Josephine Kennedy who won 1st prize in the mixed flowers section u/14’s, came 3rd in the wild flower arrangement and 3rd in the ‘6 brown egg’ section.
