Tipp has been awarded funding to carry out repairs to listed buildings.
While the allocation of €141,000 was welcomed at a Co. Council meeting, concerns were raised that individual grant limits would not cover the cost of the work for which it is intended.
The scheme allows owners and occupiers apply for grants to carry out repair or conservation works on protected structures and, in some cases, conservation of buildings.
Grants range from €2,500 to €15,000. Applicants must provide matching funding to any grant awarded.
Cllr Michael Fitzgerald pointed out that any work on a protected structure is expensive and €15,000 is very little. Larger grants would allow better work to be carried out, he said.
