After months of preparation in Clonmel, the judging day for Entente Florale is almost upon us.
The steering committee for the competition have been busy since the start of the year ensuring that Clonmel can ‘put the best foot forward’ next Friday. With that in mind the Clonmel Chamber is asking all businesses in Clonmel, in all parts of the town, to make an extra effort to ensure that there premises and environs are litter free and looking their best.
The work undertaken by the business community cannot be underestimated and a large number of owners have carried out enhancements to their buildings. Says Chamber chief executive Brian Cleary - “The aim of the committee while working on the Entente Florale is to create enhancements that will have a positive impact long after the judging is complete”.
The competition is Europe’s most prestigious environmental competition.
While the name ‘Entente Florale’ may suggest that floral beauty is at the heart of the judging criteria it also encompasses quality of life, collaboration and partnership and care for the environment.
Clonmel Chamber, as an active participant in the steering committee is asking everybody in Clonmel to make an extra effort in the next seven days to help Clonmel in the quest for a gold medal. Winning gold is an extremely difficult task and we are asking everbody to work together to bring a gold medal back to Clonmel.
Judging will take place on Friday next from 9am until 4pm.
