Macra na Feirme represented Ireland at an EU-wide young farmers conference on invitation from Mairead McGuinness MEP, in Brussels on December 5-6th.
The EPP Young Farmers Congress brought the agricultural youth of Europe together during the two-day event held in the European Parliament.
Ireland East MEP, Mairead McGuinness is a member of the Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture and is lead negotiator on the Direct Payments section of the reform of the CAP for the EPP Group.
“I was delighted that we could be joined by such an engaging group of Macra na Feirme members at the congress today. It is really important that European policymakers listen to the views of our youngest farmers as we continue to shape EU policies that will directly impact on how they farm in future,” MEP McGuinness commented
