The annual Bobby Power Commemorative Cycle takes place in Carrick-on-Suir on Sunday, September 16.
The event is being run by local members of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust in memory of the well known Carrick-on-Suir cyclist and to raise funds for the Trust, which was one of his favourite charities.
There will be a choice of two routes, 50k and 100k. Entry fee will be €30 and sponsorship cards are available on request.
Registration takes place at the Swan Club at the Fair Green from 8am and the cycle will leave from there at 9am.
Light refreshments will be provided on each route and again at the finish.
Each Easter 500 young people with special needs from all over Ireland travel to Lourdes on Pilgrimage/holiday with the Irish Pilgrimage Trust. The Trust also provides respite holidays for young people with special needs at its specially designed houses in Clarenbridge, Co. Galway and Kilrane, Co. Wexford. All volunteers pay their own fares so that all funds raised go towards the costs of care and welfare of the young people.
