Holders Clonmel Commercials meet Ballyporeen in the second South U-21 FC ‘A’semi-final this week with Ardfinnan already thorugh to the final.
The original fixture was postponed last weekend.
Commercials will start favourites with Paul Nolan, Jamie Peters, Shane Taylor, Evan Comerford, Seamus Kennedy, Jason Lonergan, Gearoid Buckley,and Michael Quinlivan all in good form.
However Bally’ will push them hard with fine players such as Bobby Breedy, Owen Morrisssey, William English, John O’Callaghan, John Martin, the Barretts Danny and Niall and Mikey Sweeney.
On Saturday the second semi-final of the South u-21 FC ‘B’ takes place between the Clonmel Og/Clerihan combination and Carrick Swan in Kilsheelan at 4pm.
The combo can call on Dean Kelleher, Daragh Kearney, Aaron and Conor Arrigan, Dean Horton, Leo Curtin and Shane Murphy but will be up against an impressive Carrick Swans team, with Lee Wall. Jamie Torpey, Mickey & Colin Loughman, Dale O’Mahony, Evan Hogan and of course Bill Walsh in their ranks.
Saturday also sees the commencement of the Sureprint Minor a Football Championship when in Davin Park, Commercials should account for Anner Gaels, with Ardfinnan v Cahir in Ned Hall park a very close one to call, while the remaining game sees Moyle Rovers take on Kilsheelan/Kilcash in Fethard and on last year’s form could just edge this game.
In the ‘B’ event, CJ Kichams Mullinahone take on Ballyooby/Castlegrace in Monroe with the Kichams lads favourites to take this game while Fr Sheehys will find it very difficult to beat Ballyporeen in this local derby.
