Clonmel Commercials seniors are set to face Aherlow in the county championship 1st round on Monday next. This will be a difficult encounter and we wish all the panel and management well. (See fixtures)
Girls: Commercials girls U10 will have their second blitz this Wednesday, August 1 in Clogheen at 6.30pm. They will play the same teams as they did two weeks ago in Clonmel, Moyle Rovers have two teams and also Ballylooby are in our division.
In our first outing the girls played brilliantly, displaying huge determination and skill levels. These girls played every minute of each game and at the end were exhausted but delighted with their performances. The support at the first blitz was really encouraging so please do come along next Wednesday to cheer on the girls.
Scrap Saturday: Our Scrap Saturday proved to be a huge success with the club receiving offers of scrap metal from so many sources. Many thanks to everyone who donated metal scrap and to the club members who helped in the collecting and organising of scrap. Although the numbers of helpers may have been small they put in huge work and we thank them for this effort.
Church Gate Collections: Thanks to all who collected and especially to those who contributed handsomely to our collection. Your generosity is much appreciated.
Tipperary Footballers: The county senior footballers bowed out of championship action on Saturday last in Mullingar at the hands of Down. Donal Lynch, Aldo Matassa and Seamus Kennedy were panel members while Michael Quinlivan was our representative on the field. A great effort from the Tipp footballers and we congratulate all involved.
We wish the county minors all the best against Mayo in the All Ireland quarter final next weekend.
Tipperary Girls: The county under 16s beat Waterford in the Munster final on Sunday. On a scoreline of 4.10 to 1.8 Tipperary were well deserving of their win. Commercials were represented by Betty Barlow, Niamh Mackey, Dara Walsh, Sarah Ryan, Saorise McGeever and Siobhan Murchan. Well done girls. Congrats also to team manager Garry Hallinan.
