The Davins Club's 50th anniversary celebration night for the members of its 1966 hurling team that won Munster and county titles, was a memorable occasion.
The function in the Carraig Hotel last Saturday night was attended by many of the Club's hurling heroes from the 1960s. Gerry Organ acted as Master of Ceremonies and Liam O'Dwyer provided the entertainment.
"There were stories told, singing and laughter. It was a memorable night and it was great we could honour this team," said Davins Club PRO John Paul McGrath.
In other Club news, Carrick Davins U-21 team bowed out of the championship last Saturday when they were defeated by Mullinahone. This brings an end to all adult competition within the Club for this season.
The Club thanks all players and mentors who helped out in any way over the past year. It was a very successful season.
Meanwhile, the U-11 team were defeated by St Patricks last Sunday morning. This team are showing great dedication to continue training and playing at this time of the year.
