An outdoor event with a difference takes place this Saturday when the South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA) will host its third annual ‘Long Way Round’ night run and walk fundraiser in Clonmel.
The cost is €30 per person and all proceeds will go to SEMRA.
Check in at the Mountain Rescue Base at the Heywood Road in Clonmel is at 5pm.
The 15 kilometre walk/run includes a road, track and open mountain route and will take place in and around Clonmel and the north western Comeraghs.
The event is open to all levels of experience and participants can take part on their own or with a group of friends. The event route will be marshalled at all times by members of the SEMRA team.
Though primarily a fundraising event, the ‘Long Way Round’ encourages participants to be active and embrace the outdoors, while experiencing the local natural amenities at night in a safe setting.
