Former Tipperary hurler John Leahy will be one of the keynote speakers at a conference geared towards educators this Thursday and Friday.

Another hurling star, Kilkenny's Michel Fennelly will also give a talk.

The event, 'Connect', takes place in the Horse and Jockey Hotel

It  is supported by Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB) and organised by Youthreach in County Tipperary with three  centres in Roscrea, Cappawhite and Templemore.

It is aimed at providers of education in Tipperary and also to the various stakeholders that engage with education offered by the ETB in Tipperary.

The speakers are varied and the keynote speaker on Thursday  is Dr. David Carey who presents with Sean Moncrief on Newstalk radio.

Kilkenny hurler Michael Fennelly is presenting on Health and Nutrition for staff.

There will also be workshops on Technology, Mindfulness and Youth Participation in Education as well as the uses of Restorative Practise in Society.

The final key note speakers are John Leahy and Christy Keneally, the former discussing addiction and mental health, and the latter dealing with self care.
