Joe's 'Flowers from Slievenamon' recounts 80 years of Mullinahone history

Slievenamon

Congratulations  to Joe O’Gorman and his wife Brigid on celebrating the Golden Jubilee of their wedding last week. Both are hale and hearty after raising a large family over 50 years.

Joe, born in Ballylanigan 80 years ago, has always played a part in local projects, but he has now surpassed himself. Joe has produced a beautiful hard covered book of his poems, his reflections, his family history and the development of life in his own parish of Mullinahone over four score years.

His book is a tribute to himself, to his family and to his own place. “Flowers from Slievenamon” has been printed by Joe and the entire proceeds are going to a local charity.

The book is free and all that is required is a contribution to the charity which is not being administered by Joe or any member of his family. Joe keeps a sealed box for donations. Make yours a generous one as this book is priceless and would make a wonderful Christmas present.

In the true spirit of charity you have painted more than 80 years of the social history of Mullinahone sometimes even giving an alternative view.
