Santa Claus is visiting Clonmel on Saturday afternoon to officially switch on the Christmas lights
Santa Claus will make a special appearance in Clonmel on Saturday afternoon.
He will start his journey through the town centre from Gleeson’s car park, near the West Gate, at 4pm, and will parade along O’Connell Street to the Main Guard.
He will be led by the Alison Cronin Dance Centre and St. Mary’s Choral Society.
Accompanied by Banna Chluain Meala, Santa will officially switch on the Christmas lights once he arrives at the Main Guard, and he’s looking forward to meeting all the boys and girls.
Popular local band The Pearly Whites will get the festive atmosphere going by performing Under The Arches of The Main Guard from 3pm.
Meanwhile, the South Tipp Arts Centre in Nelson Street, Clonmel, will celebrate the Christmas traditions of a different country each weekend during December, starting with Nollaig on this Saturday December 2nd.
You can upcycle an old piece of clothing to make your very own Christmas jumper, join the centre's tutor and calligrapher Lily O’Donnell to create a very special Clonmel Christmas card and nibble mince pies, while listening to carols with the choir Cahir To Sing.
The South Tipperary Arts Centre is open from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
