Easter Walk at Grange raised €10,000 for Tomás Kelly Trust Fund

The community of Grange/Ardfinnan/Cahir gathered on last Sunday 25th March for a 5k Fun Walk/Run in aid of the Tomás Kelly Trust Fund.

Tomás is a past pupil of Grange NS and is undergoing rehabilitation presently in Dun Laoghaire following a back operation.

The organisations of Grange N.S. Board of Management and Parents Association, Grange Development Association, Grange Community Council Ltd., Grange Tidy Villages and Grange Community and Text Alert joined forces to organise the fundraiser which was a resounding success.

The walk was preceded by a warm-up led by Bernie Connolly and the starting bell was rung by Sarah and Liam Kelly who are siblings of Tomás. An estimated 500 men, women and children began the 5km route which led from Grange to Ballindoney and Loughryan back to Grange.

All children who completed the run were given an Easter chocolate lollipop and were greeted by the Easter Bunny and Big Bird on their return! Refreshments were provided in Grange Community Hall afterwards.  Sincere thanks to all the organisers, volunteers, participants and those who donated so generously.

Over €10,000 was raised from this wonderful community effort.

We wish Tomás the very best on his rehabilitation journey.
