Another rescue operation underway on river Suir between Kilsheelan and Carrick

In the last few minutes a body has been recovered from the River Suir in the vicinity of MSD in Ballydine between Kilsheelan and Carrick on Suir.

More details as we get them.

In the last hour another river rescue operation has been launched on the River Suir  concentrating on a stretch of water  between Kilsheelan and Carrick on Suir.

The coast guard helicopter and river rescue crews were alerted after reports that a person had fallen into the river near Kilsheelan.

At the moment the search is focussing on an area of the river near Merck Sharp & Dohme.A swift river rescue crew from Tipperary fire brigade service is also assisting with the search.

The search was launched a  short time before the requiem mass was to be celebrated this morning  in Piltown of  fourteen year old Elisha Gault  who went missing on St.Patrick’ Day  and whose  body was rescued from the river below Carrick on Suir on Sunday last.
