Concern mounting over future of Axa office in Clonmel

Concern is mounting over the future of  the Axa insurance office in Clonmel.

Cllr.Richie Molloy said  customers of Axa in Clonmel feared that the office may close before the end of the year.

“Axa customers have contacted me to inform me that staff at the Clonmel office were called to a special meeting on Monday and told the office would close in November  as part of a national restructuring policy and customers  doing business in the office this week have also been  told the office iis closing” said Cllr.Richie Molloy.

Clr.Molloy said it would be a shame to see Axa close down its Clonmel office as it had a long history in the town.

“Originally it was PMPA in Thomas Street before it moved to Parnell Street.People are upset, especially an older generation who are not as computer literate to do their insurance business online , they prefer to walk into the office and conduct their business” said Cllr.Molloy.
