Tipperary TD Michael Lowry fined for filing incorrect corporate tax returns and failing to keep proper accounts

Tipperary TD Michael Lowry has been fined following being found guilty of filing incorrect corporate tax returns and failing to keep proper accounts earlier today.

Judge Martin Nolan, at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, has imposed a fine of €15,000 on Mr Lowry. An additional fine of €10,000 has been imposed on Garuda Ltd, Mr Lowry's company.

He has also been disqualified from acting as a company director for three years.

A jail sentence was not considered by the court.

This morning the Tipperary TD was found guilty on two charges of delivering an incorrect corporation tax return and failing to keep proper set of accounts.
