Over four hundred guests attended a summer lunch in aid of the South Tipperary Hospice’s Home Care Support Services.

Hospice and all its work in Tipperary has always received wonderful support from the community and this event was no different.

And support is always needed - it costs €730,000 to run the service every year.

That’s a huge amount of money and involves tremendous planning and preparation from the Hospice support team.

Yet the South Tipperary community is so appreciative of the Home Care Support service that it always supports events in the most generous way possible.

And that’s what happened at the summer lunch with such a wonderful attendance - many of them ladies enjoying a very special occasion.

It was the first time this event was held and its initial success suggests it’s here to stay.

On behalf of Hospice, Anne Grace thanked everyone for coming, for being so generous with their contributions and assuring everyone that the money would be very well spent to provide the best care for those who need it most.

Phil Kehoe of the organising committee was also thrilled at the turnout at their inaugural event but pointed out that it reflected the ongoing support that the people of Clonmel and South Tipperary have for the work of Hospice. “It was not only a great social occasion for everyone there but a very worthwhile one too, she remarked.
