Marlfield News

Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Chapel, Marlfield on Christmas morning at 9.30am. This Mass is always well attended and if you require a seat please come in time.

Wedding Bells

Wedding bells were ringing in Marlfield as local girl Marie Anne Lennon married Partolan O’Connell in St. Patrick’s Chapel. Marie Anne and Partolan were married by Fr. Billy Meehan, with Peadar O’Donoghue as best man and Janet Lennon as bridesmaid, assisted by Donal Keane, groomsman and Mary Lennon, matron of honour.

The reception was held in Kilcoran Lodge Hotel, where a mighty time was had by all the families and friends. The newlyweds are honeymooning in Florida and when they return will reside in Ballymakeera Upper, Ballyvourney, Co Cork. There will be a Tipperary flag flying in this part of Cork when next the two counties meet!

Congratulations are extended to Marie Anne and Partolan from all their friends in Marlfield and Ballymakeera, and long life and happiness is wished to both.

Well done John

The community of Marlfield Village tuned into RTE Television last week to cheer on John McNamara as he contested for a place in the live show of the All Ireland Talent Contest. He came through with flying colours and goes forward to the next level on New Year’s Eve. The village will be cheering for John and we are confident that we have a star performer in this contest.

Season’s Greetings

The Marlfield Village Committee extends season’s greetings to all residents and friends and wishes everyone good health and cheer for 2011.
