The Ballymacarbry Community Alert held their raffle for the Christmas Hamper in Dooceys Bar on Friday night, November 26.

The winners were: 1st prize - hamper - Cathal Wall; 2nd prize - brandy - Paul Horkan; 3rd prize - whiskey - O'Grady family; 4th prize - large washing powder and Comfort - William Sweeney.

The committee would like to express their congratulations to the winners and many thanks to Dooceys Bar for allowing us to hold the draw in their premises.

On behalf of the ticket sellers we would like to thank everyone that supported our fundraising efforts. The support we received from the local businesses and people of the community was enormous and we would like to thank everyone that sponsored the prizes.

We would like to take this opporutnity to remind everyone that as the winter has set in and the cold spell is upon us to take extra care when out and about. Due to bad underfoot conditions, this is the time of year for everyone to be extra vigilant and look out for our elderly neighbours as many may be isolated and found in vulnerable situations due to the weather. Anyone that has a pendant alarm should make sure they have this on them at all times.
