Duhill Dramatic Society Says Thanks:

The recent production of the play "All The Way Back" written by Bernard Farrell and directed by Michael Pollard in Duhill Community Hall was an outstanding success despite the appalling weather and road conditions last week. The committee would like to thank everyone who turned up each night and to our director Michael Pollard for making it such a success. For those people who could not make the journey because of the severe frost may get a chance to see it again in Duhill in the new year.

Clogheen Tidy Towns:

We would like to thank John D Condon and all the council staff who were very obliging and helpful in Clogheen during the recent bad weather and to Michael Fennessey and the FAS workers who helped to keep the paths clear of snow and spread salt to make them safe.

Happy Birthday:

Congratulations to Michael Ahearn (Spalp) Bridge Street, Clogheen who celebrated his birthday last week. Michael was treated to a surprise party in Nedeens Bar joined by family and friends. A great night was had by all.

St Paul's Community Centre;

St Paul's non stop fundraiser draw for the Christmas partys are still on sale in various shops in Clogheen. Please support. The Community Christmas Party will be on Sunday 12th December in St Paul's.

Vee Rovers F.C.:

The arctic conditions put paid to the fixtures schedule for the second consecutive week-end, meaning that there no games at any level. Even training proved to be a bridge too far with frozen pitches everywhere. Training on all-weather surfaces are now being considered, although it is not the preferred surface of most players. It also carries the baggage of imposing extra expense.

The under-10s recently had a day out at the new Aviva Stadium to coincide with the F.A.I. Senior Cup Final between Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers. At a time when ticket prices for games at the stadium are a hot topic, the F.A.I. on this occasion, offered tickets at a sensible price and so had a bumper crowd of 36,000 for the final. After Sligo Rovers won in a penalty shoot-out, the Vee contingent headed for sustinance at "The Tatch" on the way home. Overall a good day out was had by the young and not so young.

Christmas Draw; Tickets are available from any player or club member and as this is our main scource of income your support is greatly appreciated. Draw and party night in Nedeens on Wednesday 22nd December.
