The Our Lady of Mercy Primary School Student Council organised a talent show for contestants from first to sixth class recently, to raise money for a very good cause - the Irish Cancer Society.
Auditions were held over many days and two acts were chosen from each class to take part in the ‘finals.’
There was great excitement around the school as each class prepared banners to support their acts. The 12 finalists performed in front of a packed audience and the competition was of a high standard. The singing, dancing and musical talents of the pupils were showcased. There was no Simon Cowell to grade the acts but the top three winners were chosen by the judges and all participants received a prize.
A raffle was also held during the show and the student council members had a busy morning selling tickets. €E672 was raised from the talent show and the proceeds are being donated to the Irish Cancer Society.
