A group of Tipperary young farmers were among those who received Leadership Distinction Awards at a special Macra na Feirme ceremony recently.
50 Macra members received Leadership Distinction Awards at a special awards ceremony. The event took place in the West County Hotel, Ennis.
Tipperary winners included: John Murray, Young Farmers Discussion Group Gold; Tim Maher, Chairman North Tipperary Gold; Deirdre Kirwan, Secretary North Tipperary Silver; Catherine Maher, Competitions Chair North Tipperary Silver; Martin Fogarty, PRO North Tipperary Bronze; Sarah Guilfoyle, Young Farmer Development Officer North Tipperary Bronze.
Macra National President, Kieran O’Dowd, said: “Congratulations to all the Leadership Distinction Awards winners. It is a credit to their commitment and effort in their role within the county.” Macra’s Leadership Training programme aims to provide opportunities for members to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary for a leadership position in Macra and in other organisations. The awards scheme is designed to recognise the hard work and achievements of county officers working on a voluntary basis within Macra, with Gold, Silver or Bronze Awards being presented to officers who achieve preset targets and pass an interview.
