Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,

People should get their nominations for the Panadol supported Volunteer Ireland Awards completed this week ahead of Friday’s closing date.

Volunteer Ireland and Panadol encourage families, friends, neighbours, residents and community groups across Ireland to go to and nominate their heroes in Ireland’s major volunteer recognition event.

As an added incentive, Volunteer Ireland announced that one Awards nominee will win a €1,000 bursary for their organisation, as part of a ‘Charity Hero Award’, for lifetime contribution.

We expect the largest number of people ever nominated this year and are already taken aback at the level received.

However, I’m certain that there are more inspirational volunteers yet to be nominated. Sometimes it’s easy to forget to say thanks to those who are quietly making a difference in our community. Entries close on Friday.
