The Munster Indoor Championships took place last Sunday in Nenagh and Club athletes started the year as they finished 2012 on winning ways.

Angela McCann – top Master Women in Munster
2012 has been a very good year for Angela McCann and her brilliant performances at Munster level have been recognised as she was selected as the top Master women athlete for the year and she will receive her award at a special function at the Muster Sport Star Awards in Rathkeale on January 29t Well done Angela on winning such an award, well deserved.
Sean Tobin wins Annerville Award
Sean will look back on 2012 with mixed emotions. Sean started 2012 winning the All Ireland Indoors Under 19 1500 meter title in a new National Record of 3.56.52. During 2012 he qualified for both the World Junior 1500m Championships and the European Junior Cross Country Championships. In the former he narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi final while he had to withdraw from the latter due to illness. Sean can take some comfort from the fact that he is still Junior in 2013 and will definitely get another chance. It’s no wonder half of America want Sean in their College as they have seen the talent and temperament of a true champion in the making. Well done Sean on winning such an award, well deserved as Sean is a great ambassador for the Sport.
