The Mallow 10 Mile Road race took place last Monday and it was great to see so many Club members participating.
David Ryan ran very well when finishing 15th in 57:39, 48 seconds faster than his Ballynonty run earlier this month and showing that he is coming back into good form. Angela McCann had another great performance when finishing 2nd Senior Lady in 59 mins 53 secs, 20 seconds faster than her Ballycotton performance. Brian long also ran well when finishing 67th in 62:35, a major improvement on his Dungarvan 10 miler of 66:53. Then we had Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy running a brilliant race when finishing 77th in 62 misn 47secs. Just consider this for a weekend of activity, on Saturday he ran the Tralee marathon in 2 hours 56 mins 44 secs, on Sunday he ran the Ned Kelly 4 mile race in 24 mins 57 secs and he was then able to go and put in the above performance. Frank Moran also ran very well when finishing 108th in 65:02. We also had good performances from: Peter Kiely 138th 66:45, Johanna Lacy 185th 68:57, John Laste 253rd 71:23, Cyril Fogarty 257th 71:26, David Johnson 292nd 72:28,Ivan Barlow 309th 72:50, Bernard Durand 331st 73:34, Graham O’Regan 337th 73:56, Nicola Maunsell 338th 73:59, Fiona Bourke Barlow 412th 76:41, Philip Hennessy 460th 78:33, Sean O’Dea 485th 79:11, Adrian Lonergan 494th 79:26, Orla Durand 553rd 81:53, Sheila Perry 584th 83:26, Oonagh Duffy 586th 83:28, Anne Maher 669th 87:38, Alina Neumerzhitskaya 675th 87:51, Trish Browne 780th 95:18, Breeda Marnane 782nd 95:34, Moira Molloy 831st 101:47, Karen Looby 841st 103:40, Roberta Ryan 849th 105:33, Siobhain Roche 859th 106:22 and Tina Clarke 872nd 109:14. For many of these athletes it was their first time tackling this course and that is brilliant when one takes into account that some of these athletes were only running 5ks last year, brilliant progress.
Great performances at Borrioskane 10K
The Borrisokane 10k took place in good conditions last week. Pat O Connor ran very well w hen finishing 27th in 42 mins 2 secs. Then we had Eimear Quinn finishing 51st in 48 misn 1 secs.
Great performance in the Ned Kelly 4 mile road race
The Ned Kelly 4 Mile Road Race took place in Moyglass on St Patrick‘s day and it was great to see the Club well represented. Paudie O’Keeffe ran well when finishing 8th overall in 22 mins 35 secs. Angela McCann won the Ladies race in 24 mins 6 secs. Liam Casey also ran well when finishing 20th in 24:55 with Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy 21st in 24:57. Aine Roche was 2nd Lady in 25:33 with Johanna Lacy winning the 1st 0/35 in 26:42. We also had good performances from Francis Connolly 39th 27:47, John Laste 41st, Noel Prendergast 43rd, Suzanne Shine 44th, James O’Brien 45th 28:10, Maurice Boland 51st 29:15, Cormac Healy 52nd 29:19, Niall O’Sullivan 52nd 29:25, Donal Casey 53rd 29:30, Donna Nagle 55th 29:56, Joe Grinsell 62nd 31:21, Eamon Crowley 70th 33:10, Deirdre Healy 72nd 33:23, Aline Neumerzhitkaya 73rd and Myles McHugh 74th. Vasiliy flies the flag at Tralee Marathon
The first promotion of the Tralee marathon took place last weekend. Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy ran very well when finishing 2nd 0/45 in 2 hours 56 mins 44 secs finishing 10th overall. This was his 7th Marathon this year, great performances.
Munster Master Road Championships
These Championships takes place this Sunday in Moyglass starting at 1pm with the Ladies 4 mile road race. The Club hopes to have four teams competing with many of our members on the County teams as well.
Join SPAR and Ray 5K
This very popular event takes place on next Tuesday 26th March at 1 pm. We have over one thousand entrants for what will be a brilliant spectacle through the streets of Clonmel.
