The third annual Bobby Power Memorial Cycle takes place in Carrick-on-Suir on Sunday, September 15.
The event is being run by local members of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust in memory of the late Bobby Power to raise funds for one of Bobby’s favourite charities.
There will be a choice of two routes – 50k and 100k. The entry fee will be €30 and sponsorship cards are available on request.
Registration takes place at the Swan Club, Fairgreen, from 8am on September 15 and cyclists will leave the Club at 9am. Light refreshments will be provided on each route and again at the finish.
Each Easter 500 young people with special needs from all over Ireland travel to Lourdes on pilgrimage/holiday with the Irish Pilgrimage Trust. All volunteers pay their own fares.
The Trust also provides respite holidays for young people with special needs at its specially designed houses in Kilcuan, Clarenbridge, Co. Galway and Cois Cuain, Kilrane, Co. Wexford.
