The final round of trials for the Tipperary county team took place on Friday in Cahir House Hotel and a large crowd attended, all trying to gain enough points to make either of the two men’s teams, and the ladies trying to play their way on to the ladies team for the coming year.
Gerry O’Hara again won the men’s competition defeating Lee Grogan in the final. Karen Moloney threw some great darts all night to win the ladies, where she defeated Annette Keane in the ladies final. Final placings after the six rounds will be printed in the coming weeks.
The County Board would like to thank all the players who attended the trials over the six weeks and also thank anyone who helped in any way. They would like to thank Hillview Sports Club in Clonmel and Cahir House Hotel who staged the trials over the past six weeks.
They wish all who have made the County teams the best of luck for the coming year and we feel this might be the year when Tipperary Darts will make the breakthrough and leave their mark on national competitions around the country.
Hard luck to those players who failed to make it this time round and we would encourage them to keep up the hard work and your time will come at a later stage.
