Fantastic O'Reilly Total Pharmacy 4k Series at Clonmel Athletics Club

Clonmel AC’s pre-Christmas 4k series of races was this year sponsored by O'Reilly Total Health Pharmacy. The four races were an outstanding success with 259 athletes competing in at least one of the races.

“The club are very grateful to Barry Horgan for such generous sponsorship. We are indeed very grateful to the Brothers of Charity for the use of their carpark as race headquarters. We are indebted to the Red Cross for covering the first aid for each of the races. We are also very grateful to all our stewards who ensured that all the races were very well marshalled,” a club spokesperson said.

The first race attracted 137 athletes competing on what was an ideal night for running, mild and still with no wind. The race format was Lucky Dip - this is where finishing positions are selected prior to the race and the athletes who finish in these positions win prizes. The Lucky Cash Prize winners were Tony Scully 19th  in 16:40, Annmarie Boland 47th in 18:42, Patrick Hackett 59th in 19:48, Troy Spink 85th in 22:15, Mary Morrison 98th in 24:30, Jackie Hickey 118th in 26:53 and Linda Guthrie 1133rd in 36:19. The hamper prize was won by David Power.
