Clonmel breast cancer survivors enjoy dragon boat series in Henley

Clonmel’s Suir Dragon Paddlers, a dragon boat team made up of breast cancer survivors with their friends and families, recently travelled to the United Kingdom for the Henley Winter Series.

The series comprised of four long distance time trials over a 7km circular race course along the River Thames, with a turn around an island at each end of the course. The turns and staggered start provided exhilarating racing for the 13 dragon boat crews that took part, two of which consisted of breast cancer survivors.

A flower  remembrance ceremony also took place on the water afterwards to remember those who have passed away.

The Suir Dragon Paddlers told The Nationalist that they really enjoyed the experience.
