Passage East defeated Drom & Inch by one point in the final of St Molleran’s Noel Kelly Senior Hurling Tournament last Saturday.
The large crowd of spectators were treated to an absolute cracker of a match on an evening of ideal weather conditions.
The game featured some breathtaking scores and outstanding individual performances.
It was a classic game and a fitting finale to a memorable tournament. Final score: Passage 3-14, Drom & Inch 2-16.
St Molleran’s thanks sponsors Noel Kelly and The Carraig Hotel, match officials, all participating teams, stewards, and extends a special thanks to tournament organiser, John Maher, on a job well done.
Meanwhile, St Molleran’s Intermediate hurlers achieved a good win over Tramore in the League last Saturday. Final score: St Molleran’s 3-14, Tramore 1-08.
The team play Ferrybank in the championship in Walsh Park at 7.30pm this Friday, June 7. St Molleran’s Junior hurlers were defeated by Butlerstown in their latest group championship game. The teams were evenly matched for most of the game but Butlerstown finished stronger and won by five points. The Juniors have three games left in the competition.
The Club’s lotto jackpot prize wasn’t won last week and there weren’t any match 3 winners. Five lucky dip winners each received E40. Numbers drawn were 5,12,15,17.
The U-14 hurlers suffered were defeated by Ballyduff Upper and Four-mile-water last week. The Club’s Juvenile Academy continues today (Wednesday, June 5) from 6.30pm to 7.45pm.
Club gear can be ordered at the Clubhouse on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
