The Tipperary Minor Hurlers are expecting a great homecoming when they return from Dublin this evening (Monday) after beating Dublin in yesterday’s All-Ireland Minor Hurling Final replay at Croke Park.
The team is due at the Cathedral in Thurles at 7pm.
Afterwards they will travel to Kilsheelan, the home of captain Bill Maher, where they are due between 9 and 9.30pm.
Sunday’s 10-points victory earned Tipperary their 19th All-Ireland Minor Hurling crown and their first since 2007.
For five players it was an extra-special occasion after they also won a football All-Ireland last year.
Bill Maher, Dylan Fitzell, Tom Kirwan, John McGrath and Steven O’Brien are the players who have now claimed a rare All-Ireland Minor double.
